Ice cream social

via

My friends and I were chatting last night about some themed summer parties that we want to host this summer (one of them being Don't Be A Menace style, an incredibly chic affair, really). We were thinking of a girls-only one, and an ice cream social seems perfect. Of course, I'd be happy incorporating ice cream into any affair.

Have a celebratory weekend!

I'm celebrating a couple of birthdays this weekend (plus hopefully an Angel's victory tonight), AND it's wonderful colorful Easter aka I get to be around a ton of people and things that I love. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Lavendar lemonade cake

I am dying over how great/cute/perfect/nummy this idea is! You scoop out the lemon inside of a lemon, fill it with your favorite lemon cake mix, wrap it in foil, bake, and serve in the lemon shell wrapped in some twine with a lavendar accent! I want to host a shower or party or brunch of some sort asap, solely to serve these cuties!!!

Cheez pleez

I absolutely love love Joanna's post about the perfect cheese platter. I very much enjoy having cheese platters at a get together, because there are few people who won't touch it. A few tips from her post:

-Buy one ounce per person per cheese (no more than 6 cheeses)
-Take the cheese out of the fridge one hour prior to the party (cheese should be served room temp)
- Cheeses should be arranged on the platter clockwise, from mildest to strongest: mildest at 12:00, strongest at 11:00.

Bon apecheese!

DIY holiday decor!

Okay I know my blog looks like Christmas threw up all over it, but I just love it so. I found some simple decorating ideas that I think I might try.

Sparkly ornaments! So easy and so super cute. Instructions here (although I'm sure you could figure out how to do this without them).

Make your own ornament wreath, found here. FYI the $1 bins at Target have cute ornaments like the ones below. I wanna try a gold and silver one oh yaaa.

Super simple, but super cute! Just add colorful sequins to jars and stick a candle right on in there. I also really want that gold stocking!! Love this.

Also for you to jam out to: my favorite Christmas song, GLEE STYLE: Baby It's Cold Outside

Fantastic Friday

I have an exciting weekend ahead of me. I'm going to a show with my best friend, followed by a baseball game, followed by a wedding, catching up with an old friend shopping, then topping it off with a Sunday football party. Feeling blessed! Hope you have a great weekend!

'Tis the season

Now that two of my best friends have babies/are pregnant, I've realized that we're just entering the wedding and baby years, which means I'm going to have a lot of shower-planning to do (fine by me!). I love the shower above, done by one of my favorite bloggers. It may have to do with that AWESOME dessert bar (I'm a sucker for dessert bars). Good job, Erin!
