The Weeknd

I haven't been this excited about an artist in a REALLY long time. This guy, The Weeknd, is a 20 year old r&b artist from Toronto with the voice of an angel. For the past week, he's all that Kevin and I have been listening to. He's so freaking smooth and I just want the world to know about him, save for the radio stations that over-play songs and artists. He's like a mix of Drake and the Dream, with a touch of Jesus; 3 of my favorite people. Please do yourselves a favor and listen to his entire mixtape here. My favorites include: the morning and the party and the after party.

*Le sigh*

A dash of glitter

Sometimes, and by sometimes I mean all the time, I just want a little sparkle in my life.

This cake is all that I want, forever.

And I'm thinking of making these diy glitter hats, for like, every day wear or something.

Or maybe I'll make my own glitter tonight instead of making dinner. All that you need is salt, food coloring and an oven, as shown here. And considering this is pretty much all that's in my kitchen right now, it seems like a good idea. I swear "go grocery shopping" has been on my to-do list for apx. 5-45 days now.

Sparkle on, you beautiful people.

Nautical-inspired

I'm going to an event on a yacht this weekend, and am always excited for any chance to wear a nautical-inspired 'fit. I recently got some new boat shoes and found the perfect rope necklace from H&M for our 4th of July spent seaside, which'll be perfect for this weekend. But I'll still take everything below, if not, the sailboat alone shall suffice.

Happy weekend, maties.

Mini peach crisps

I've made this apple crisp multiple times for various parties upon request. It's seriously so good, easy, and doesn't require extravagent ingredients from the depths of a secluded island. So naturally when I saw this peach crisp, I knew I had to try it. I love peaches and crisps and desserts and and mini things and pretty much anything that you can put ice cream on. Can't wait to try it. Mini Peach Crisps:

(not a measured recipe)

*peaches
*sugar
*flour
*cinnamon
*oatmeal
*brown sugar
*butter
*baking powder
*baking soda

In a bowl, combine peaches, a little flour, sugar and cinnamon and set equal parts into ramekins (I used 3 ramekins with 2 peaches). Then in the same emptied bowl, combine oatmeal, brown sugar, flour, butter, baking powder and baking soda. Sprinkle mixture on top of peaches and bake for around 20 minutes at 375 degrees. Serve warm with ice cream. Lots o' ice cream.

Scrub-a-dub dub

My skin has been pret-ty dry and ashy as of late (is that in style yet?), and these DIY scrubs seem like an excellent way to get me sum o dat soft and supple skin. I like the lavendar scrub from Trader Joes, but have since ran out, so why not make my own! YAY!

Lavender Scrub Recipe:
1 cup organic cane sugar
1/3 cup celtic sea salt
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
2-3 tablespoons almond oil
1 tablespoon Vitamin E
Lavender Essential Oil

Wall art
Wads of taper candles in a big vase

Somethin' somethin' on a Sunday

Watering can turned vase
A nummy peach drink. Also check out this super easy raspberry beer cocktail from Krystina's blog, that I made twice this weekend. Swear I'm not an alchy.
Tried this skirt on at American Apparel and for some reason decided not to get it. But I want one. Gotta have one. Love it in peach.
Mermaid nails with loose glitter, too cute.
The perfect summer cross-body bag.
I love mint and this is so perfect for summer! Toss a sprig of mint into your ice tray to freshen up any drink.
